Got stuck in a platformer game, hit space, spawned a little dude. (Apprentice, Rainbow Arts, 1990, OCS)

Ok, that hedgehog got blown to pieces.

Bonus: Here's the chest where I kick-looted the little dude. At the time I thought I got a 1up.

Apprentice is rather hard. You start with 3 lives and there's zero continues. Made it to world 4 of .. 37(!) - Here's all the maps: hol.abime.net/3283/gamemap

I like this game a lot today and back then. It feels polished for an Amiga platformer, but it's super rough compared to console games of the same genre. The single joystick button situation of all Amiga games is by far the biggest downer. Joystick-up for jumping is just horrible.

Found a women inside a hut who trades items. She offers a balloon for an unknown item I don't yet have.

Most home computer games of this era lack ingame tutorials and require you to read the manual before playing. Here's a few excerpts. Sadly, there's no backstory or meaning behind "the little player".
