Amiga 600 solder pad resurrection
How hard can it be to fix a pulled solder pad?
Last night I re-capped my 600 but broke a solder pad in the process. There was a slim trace left, so tonight I'll try to build a bypass of some sort.
All day long I thought about how to solve this situation. My plan is to attach a patch wire and connect the wire to the capacitor. Soldering surface mounted parts isn't fun when there's little room. A patch wire gives me more room to work with, plus it's easier to solder.
First attempt is ultra lucky. I managed to put a tiny solder blob on the trace. If you're into soldering you know that a 2nd lucky shot is needed to attach something to that blob without pulling the solder away from it's tiny resting place.
And guess what: 2nd attempt is also lucky! Patch cable is in place.
While securing the cable to the board, everything fell apart: The damned cable pulled out the entire tiny trace...
I tripple checked: It was gone. The hell! I seriously thought they were much deeper in the PCB.
<panic>
After looking at service manuals and following a few traces, an escape plan unfolds: There's an existing solder spot right next to the neighboring capacitor. All I need to do is to move the cap a little to the right.
Oh yeah. I'm back!
The location and angle of the wire is perfect. Maybe I could use the wire itself as a replacement pad if I cut it short and put the cap directly on it.
Holy shit. I did it.
Now, the temporarily removed cap can return. And voila: I'm done!
Oh, what an ugly hack. LOL
After this, I checked all replaced caps from last night with a Multimeter to see the they got continuity. Everything seems to be correct.
Testing time!
Success!
Wait..
The color is off. There's a purple tint!

Not sure what causes this, might be I damaged a chip or caused a short or something.
